Claimant details

Somerled Wines is set in the beautiful cool climate Adelaide Hills region. We are family owned and operated, and specialise in a compact range of super premium wines. Rob, Heather, Emma and Lucy Moody are involved with every step of Somerled Wines production, with Rob as winemaker having had 40 years’ winemaking experience at iconic homes such as Penfolds and Wynns.
We welcome you to Somerled Cellar Door in Handorf, a quaint hamlet in the Hills, to go ‘Once Around the Track’ with one of the Moody family members, or with Neala Miles, our lovely local team member.

A guided ‘Once Around the Track’ tasting will take you through our Sparkling Pinot Noir, stunning Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, our light bistro-style ‘Picnic Races Red’, and our flagship wine, the Somereld Shiraz.

Alternatively, order online at www.somerled.com.au, email Lucy at [email protected], or phone us, on +61 8 8388 7478.

Somerled is the name of the horse ridden by Rob’s grandfather at the local Oakbank Picnic Races in 1908!

The Oldest Pubs In Adelaide

Adelaide, commonly known as the city of churches, hides another rich historical facet – it’s a city teeming with classic bars and pubs. Strolling through Adelaide, you’re likely to be captivated by its historic houses and striking churches. However, it’s the pubs that often steal the show. These establishments, some of the most majestic and historic in Australia, don’t always get the recognition they deserve. For instance, consider the Newmarket Hotel, a stunning three-story pub from 1883, which, though facing demolition, remains a significant piece of Adelaide’s history.

Another hidden gem is the Beresford Arms Inn on Gilles St. Though no longer operational, its magnificence is undeniable.
