Magpies Waitara raises over $23,000 for three featured charities: Hornsby Connect, Ku-Ring-Gai Youth Development Service (KYDS) and Studio ARTES.
The Community Raffle was drawn at an exclusive Charity Cocktail Party in the Pavilion at Magpies Waitara on Wednesday 25 October with 100 guests in support of raising funds for the charities. Special guest Alister Henskens MP attended to draw the five raffle prizes and present cheques. The charities had the opportunity to speak on the important work they do in the community including Steve Hopwood from Hornsby Connect with heartfelt speeches from Sarah Ashton from KYDS and Oliver House from Studio ARTES.
A total of $23,000 was raised comprised of a $15,000 contribution from Magpies Waitara and approximately $8,000 in the Charity Raffle and Auction proceeds from our Community and Club Members amounting to $7,750 to each of the three charities.
The success of the raffle was due in part to our generous supporters including ITalk Travel Hornsby and Cassella Family Brands plus many more.
