Por el a±o 1965 yo tena 24 a±os, viva en la localidad de Olivos (provincia de Buenos Aires), y sola pasear en auto por la costa de punta a punta, o sea, desde El Tigre hasta La Boca¢‚¬¦, recuerdo que comenzaban a ponerse de moda las discotecas¢‚¬¦ era el auge del Centro Cultural Di Tella¢‚¬¦, por aquel entonces con un grupo de amigos so±¡bamos con hacer un club privado para congregar a m¡s amigos…, recuerdo que le comente a mi madre: ¢‚¬Å“ voy a poner un lugar al que va a venir a conocer gente de todas partes del mundo¢‚¬¦¢‚¬, pense en que ese lugar podra estar en San Telmo, porque me pareci³ el centro cvico¢‚¬¦, un lugar central geogr¡ficamente al que se poda llegar con facilidad, cerca de Plaza de Mayo, de la Casa de Gobierno¢‚¬¦, adem¡s San Telmo me gustaba mucho por su estilo arquitect³nico y tambien porque se respiraba un aire a bohemia muy especial¢‚¬¦, el barrio estaba muy descuidado¢‚¬¦ pero, haba en ese entonces algunos ateliers de pintores, teatros under, restaurantes tradicionales; el m¡s destacado El Repecho, dos cerveceras, tres o cuatro casas de antiguedades y los viejos bodegones el Uni³n Bar y el Volga.
