Adelaide has a great and diverse music scene. You will find everything from hard core rap to folk in the same venue (the gov). Adelaide CBD has most of the bigger local DJ’s, but just on the outskirts of Adelaide you will find some really good live bands.
Places like the Alma have open mic on Thursdays, Fridays and DJ’s till late on Saturday and Sunday.
The Gov – Everything from Hip hop to Folk Dancing. Great pub just on the edge of the city.
The Jive – The Jive is a great unique venue with just as unique artists. This is how music venues should look and feel.
The Lion Hotel – The Lion is an award winning restaurant that has plenty of rooms with bit more relaxing music
Rhino Room – Stand up comedy most nights, but they do have a lot of cool bands and DJ’s
The Jade – Great food and drinks. Music wise they have a bit of everything, but sort of more of an older crowd. Venue itself is really cool.
Broadcast Bar – It is a small intimate bar, really funky decor and they makes some pretty good cocktails for a live music venue.
La Boheme – comfy and chill is the best way to describe La Boheme. Kick back with a classic cocktail and some Jazz
55ml– Great everyday bar, very hidden in a warehouse on a side street. With some dj’s, jazz and karaoke it’s offers a nice mix of everything.
Happy Sally – Live Fridays is a great way to start the weekend.
Make sure you check out what time happy our is before you go. You might be able to get some cheap drinks before the show.
