Hunted Bars Around Australia

Hunted Bars Around Australia

Like it or not we are all a bit intimidated or excited by ghosts. Stories evolving around ghosts make us usually want to check the situation out ourselves just to have some proof. What if I told you there are plenty of historic pubs in Australia where you might be able to see or hear a ghost. Check out our favorite pubs where people have reported seeing ghosts!

1. The Hero of Waterloo

Rumour has it that in 1849, publician Thomas Kirkman pushed his wife down the stairs to her death. Since then music has been heard during nighttime when pub is closed and furniture has been moved even though no one was in the pub. Creepy enough? Go and check it out yourself and let us know!

2. Australian Heritage Hotel

Australian Heritage hotel is located in central area of Sydney and offers great meals and drinks with a side of spooky. Apparently ghost Maddox was murdered in a hotel and occasionally can be seen wondering around. So, are you ready to try your luck in finding Maddox?

3. North Kapunda Hotel

North Kapuda Hotel an hour from Adelaide has been called the most haunted hotel in Australia. It is said that a woman was murdered in one of the rooms by a man known as “the man in black”. The man in black is known to be one of the four spirits in hotel. There are some ghost tours that take you through North Kapunda Hotel so for that extra creepy experience why not to go on a tour.

4. Kalamunda hotel

Kalamunda hotel in WA has recorded at least 4 different spirits hanging around.  There is an angry man in his 60’s, a beautiful woman in her mid 30’s, a little 7-8 year old girl and a mystery man that hangs in the back shadows. Creepy enough? Bar itself is super welcoming and cozy so why not to check it out and possibly see a ghost or two while you’re at it.

5. Rose and Crown hotel

The Rose and Crown hotel is not only worth visiting because it is the oldest pub in WA, but you also might be able to run into ghosts. Rumor has it that spirits of old convicts and publicans wonder around the hotel. The location itself is gorgeous and is surely worth dropping by even if you are not much of a ghost hunter.

6. Mitre Tavern

Mitre Tavern is believed to be the oldest pub in Melbourne. It’s central location has attracted lots of visitors from all areas of life. Mitre Tavern is also known for it’s resident ghost, Connie Waugh. Connie was the mistress of Sir Rupert Clarke, who hanged himself in the establishment. Connie later died of suspicious causes and is said to haunt the pub.
