Victoria is known for its beautiful mountains, Great Ocean Road, and culture. Another good reason to visit Victoria is wine regions and distilleries. There are so many new ones popping up constantly. So, if you happen to be in Victoria and are planning a trip, we have a couple of distillery recommendations.
Apollo Bay is a place where the town spirit truly comes alive. The Apollo Bay gins are linked to ships that sailed off the coast many years ago. Unique, artisan gins can be enjoyed with wood-fired pizza. It is the only distillery on the Great Ocean Road, so a great place to visit when traveling that way.
Jimmy Rum Distillery is located on the beautiful Mornington peninsula. It is a craft rum distillery with plenty of interesting spirits on offer. Enjoy tastings, cocktails, great food to go with it, and lots of interesting stories about the distillery. It’s a perfect stopover when in the area.
Queenscliff Brewhouse is called a brewhouse, but it also specializes in gin. Beer, wine, cider, and gin tastings are available what makes it a great place to visit with a group- everyone should find something they like. It is located in a historic building and we definitely recommend visiting when in the area.
Animus is a premium, small-batch hand-crafted gin. The cellar door is at Kyneton, where you can visit and find out how Animus gins are produced. Sit back at the cocktail lounge area and enjoy a cocktail matched with amazing food.
Loch is another place that offers beers and distilled spirits. Loch is praised for using old-age methods to produce their drinks. Visit the cellar door and taste traditional-style beers, gins, rare vodka, and a long-awaited single-malt whiskey. It’s a great place to visit and learn a thing or two.
