3rd of January is National Drinking Straw Day! While this day is typically a time to celebrate the creator and enjoy the convenience of drinking straws, it's also a good opportunity to think about the negative impact that plastic drinking straws can have on the environment.
Plastic drinking straws are a common sight at restaurants, bars, and other food and drink establishments. But in 1888 Marvin C. Stone received the patent for the paper drinking straw, so this day is to honour a great accomplishment.
