Instructor Laura Milham is an enthusiastic and highly knowledgeable bartending veteran. She currently works as the Concept Manager for Reillys @ LAX, a 500K/Month bar. Throughout her career has earned the trust of students and bar owners alike. Her extensive experience includes over 15 years of high-volume, club, private party, fine dining bartending and bar management. Laura bartended to pay her way through her Masters Program. In addition to the school she also Co-owns a successful staffing company, “LG Event Services,” which often hires directly from the SCBS graduate list. Her expert knowledge and experience provides a unique, rich and thorough education that is unmatched by any other school. Students get to learn tricks of the trade, how to increase tips, “do”s/”don’t”s and real life examples of how to deal with difficult situations in the bartending industry.

Here at the Southern California Bartending School classes are broken up into lectures, practicing behind the bar and role-playing as a live bartender. Lecture topics include: The current popular drink recipes, measurements & free pouring, bar equipment, bar etiquette, customer service, bar set up and breakdown, proper technique for opening wine and tapping beer kegs, liquor laws, resume building and interview techniques.
Our instructors also incorporate team workshops, which involves working with other students on speed and accuracy drills. Upon completion of the exam you will receive lifetime job placement assistance and be able to login to our online job placement site for current job opportunities in Southern California.
