We are a full service restaurant. We will have outside seating along with inside. Our menu has a large selection of entrees along with beer & wine. There is also ice cream for the warm days. Along side our restaurant will will be renting bikes, SUPs & kayaks. Our outside area will be a nice place to relax on those long summer days. Located overlooking Ucluelet Harbour, The “Nest” full service Pub has over 100 seats, plus the patio. Enjoy freshly prepared soups, salads, or the west coast’s best burgers. Hand cut fries and scratch soups make the pub a great place to wind up your day.

The Space
Republic NOLA can accommodate any event from 10 to 1000 guests by using one or more of our historic spaces.

Main Room (Downstairs)
4500 sq ft featuring cocktail, lounge and high-top seating. Able to comfortably accommodate up to 700 people.
Ideal for any live performance or presentation, Republic houses a stage, state of the art light and sound production, and a projector with a large screen.

Mezzanine (Upstairs)
2500 sq ft terrace overlooking the main floor and stage. Able to comfortably accommodate up to 200 people.
The mezzanine showcases some of the most classic features of the building: the art deco murals, vintage brick walls, large slate bar, crystal chandeliers, and exposed wooden beams. With a full bar and both cocktail and lounge seating, this area can accommodate a full fledged party or be arranged intimately enough for a private dinner.

Artists Room (Green Room)
500 sq ft room adorned with low-level seating and a private bathroom.
The Green Room is perfect for a small function or a private space during one of Republics larger events. Artists Room is included in main room rental or can be rented separately.

Mr. Purple, a rooftop bar and restaurant located on the 15th floor of Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, captures the vibrant and artistic spirit of the LES. Designed by internationally acclaimed design firm Cr¨me Design, the space recreates an artist-loft ambiance with indoor and outdoor areas displayed through the use of reclaimed wood structures, juxtaposed with concrete, metal, free hanging lights, and contemporary wooden furniture. Using downtown New York as a backdrop, the 3,000 sq. ft. interior space is complemented by two terraces. The smaller 750 sq. ft. eastern terrace is perfect for an intimate gathering. The larger terrace located on the west side of the space measures 5,000 sq. ft., and is outfitted with its own swimming pool, bar and variety of seating options including chaise lounges, banquettes, and high top communal tables. Mr. Purple’s menu connects with local iconic culinary staples, in addition to featuring locally sourced ingredients. The bar menu features an expansive collection of small-batch spirits, regionally brewed craft beers, universal wine offerings and a rotating selection of Gerber Group’s classic and modern cocktails that highlight market fresh ingredients. Garage + Fishtown = a match made in heaven! All of the same greatness of the OG but with more doors, more canned beer and way more bar. We have 300 beers, whiskey & pickle backs. We also have pool tables and skeeball. Scratchleys Restaurant began in 1989 with the reuse of The Old Stockton Ferry Terminal. Donna and Neil worked extraordinary hours, something our wonderful industry demands. They traded for 10 years in a building built with love, desire and very little money. Although they had worked in the industry for 15 years prior, there was still so much to learn. Over the time we had various side projects €“ a tender won at Sheppards Cottage €œThe Terrace€ (lost DA), Paymasters Cafe (a win), The Hunters Ark Nobby Beach (a loss). Throughout this time, we built a loyal clientele and effective systems, enabling us to run the bigger, more environmentally-friendly modern Scratchleys in 1999.

In 1999, we built a real restaurant with many features that we could have only dreamt of ten years previously. Our floor to ceiling glass folding doors enable our guests to truly interact with the fabulous working Newcastle Harbour.

We were able to refine our environmental initiative in waste management and energy usage.

We continuously refine our food around our guests expectations. Although the menu is predominately seafood, we also cater to non-seafood lovers and all other dietary requirements. Our extensive wine list has been a labour of love with many aged wines available at very reasonable prices. We know our place in the social fabric of Newcastle and aim always to please visitors and locals alike.

In November 2016 we opened our latest edition to the western end of our iconic building, Battlesticks Bar, and gave the existing restaurant a new look.
