Description
The underground was founded in 1988. The whole thing started with a car repair shop and a simple pub. A few years later, one or the other room was used for concerts and the outdoor area transformed into a beer garden. Since then, over 10,000 events have been held over the years, resulting in several concerts, parties and exhibitions. Even events in the legendary beer garden still count to this day. In 2004, Underground GmbH (owners Georg Schmitz-Behrenz and Micki Pick) took over the underground of the then operator and since then increased the number of concerts and parties continuously. The Underground has even gained a reputation as THE rock and punk venue in Cologne world in many years. Later, of course, in addition to the rock and punk acts also some hip-hop, alternative and mainstream artists were added. On these boards, numerous artists started their careers and then played large halls and arenas.
