Thirstys, which opened its doors in August 2007, was a vision of the Morrison family. Located in the former Larkin & Jones Appliance building at 819 Main Street, the entire interior was gutted and remodeled to its present state. The back bar dates back to 1928 , when it graced the Stockmans Bar on Main Street during Rapid Citys colorful past. The front of the bar was hand-crafted on-site to complement the design of the original.
The goal of Thirstys is simple; to have a place where people can meet their friends, visit, or watch the big game with an ice-cold beer. First and foremost, Thirstys is about excellent food at affordable prices with great service. Our motto is to €œAlways treat people like we would like to be treated.€
Oh yeah! Why the name Thirstys and why a bulldog as the logo? The real bulldog, Frankie, belongs to the Morrisons daughter and son-in-law in Boise, ID. Frankies enormous tongue is always hanging out, in standard bulldog fashion, and she always looks thirsty. Hence the name THIRSTYS!
