The Woolshed has maintained its reputation as the best party venue in Cairns since it opened in the heart of the city on 24 July 1994. It’s the only place where you can let your hair down and dance on the tables seven nights a week. The international crowd choose The Woolshed as their place to party during the week, while the locals make it their weekend night-time venue. There is a different theme each evening including Tropical Tuesday, a Ladies Night on Thursdays, and Bikini Sunday.
There is a mezzanine floor close to the bar where you can keep your eye on the action of the dance floor and plenty of seating where the music won’t blast away the conversation. Outside is The Balcony where misting fans keep you cool as you enjoy the fresh air and look out over City Place and its lit-up fig trees. Smoking is permitted here, but the ventilation system ensures the smoke is drawn away from the venue. This is the bar where everybody knows your name as the long-term bar staff make a point of getting to know their customers and take pride in delivering fast, professional service. The Woolshed is owned by a local family who have made safety a priority for their customers with ID scanning and CCTV systems in place.
