Claimant details

A simple, sandstone block, the foundation of a grand new home: Landers House. Built in 1897 by Jonathon Landers on 16 ½ acres of land, it was the first significant dwelling in the area.
1920 brought a new vision for the land: a simple cottage was built on this site using materials from the old home, including that sandstone block.
The site transformed again when, in 1957, then owner Mr Claude Rodgers transferred the property to the Lane Cove Businessmens Club. With subsequent additions and enhancements, the cottage was absorbed into a bigger building for men to quaff whisky and shake hands over business deals.
And now, with an extensive transformation designed to satisfy the entire Lane Cove community, this special place begins yet another new chapter as €˜The Alcott. Meaning €˜from the old cottage, its a nod to our origins, and a sign were still making history.
Like the original Landers House, The Alcott is a first for the area. From the vibrant Spritz bar and inspired outdoor dining terrace, to the exclusive event spaces and a dedicated place to play, The Alcott is a place for locals to connect and relax without leaving the Lower North Shore. Where mid-century design intersects with contemporary style for old-school cool. Where, filled with intimate nooks and surrounded by history, youll find your own special place at The Alcott and you wont want to leave.
Where, with award-winning Head Chef Richard Slarp, from Sake, Aria Catering, Est, and Slip Inn, youll find a fresh, locally sourced, Mediterranean-inspired menu thats just meant to be shared with friends.
And, the stone? Its still here. Youll see it set into the wall as you walk in. Because time moves on, but some things never change.
Like how food brings you together. How great food, prepared to perfection, makes your soul sing. And how having a place to raise a glass and unwind with friends feels like home.
Welcome to The Alcott. Please, take a seat.
