HAND MADE FOR RICHMOND
Looking for a European culinary hideaway in the heart of Richmond? Then step inside Saint Urban – a space handmade for locals and Melbournians alike.
Saint Urban was the Bishop of Langres in France in the 4th Century and was persecuted for his beliefs. He was protected by the vine-dressers in his parish, who hid him in their vineyards. He in turn, converted them to Christianity. Saint Urban is called upon to protect anyone in the wine industry against blight and alcoholism.
The suburban restaurant, which is part of the Punch Lane family, has quickly established itself as a jewel in Swan Street’s culinary crown.
Inspired by the quaint European buildings in France, Saint Urban is a local watering hole and meeting place, which brings people from all walks of like together to enjoy spectacular food and drinks at a great price.
From a casual bite to eat, business lunch, dinner for two, to drinks with friends, Saint Urban offers a laid back environment which is flexible to meet your needs.
Saint Urban’s interior has a distinctly ‘local’ feel. Our tiles were hand glazed by the owners and bar and table tops made from wood sourced from Woodend. The leather fittings are hand stitched by an upholsterer in Cremorne, and the steel works around the restaurant were hand crafted in Castlemaine.
Want to know more about the legend of Saint Urban? Drop in for a glass of wine, a delicious bite to eat and watch the world go by. Our friendly staff can’t wait to meet you.
