At the end of 2015 we went on a road trip to visit some friends in Copenhagen and .... because we love road trips. The trip took us to Amsterdam, Hamburg, Bremen and eventually Denmark itself. We would have gone to Sweden too, if only we had known how close it was. I mean, there is a bridge, yes, a bridge, to Sweden. Anyway, once there we visited our good friend Carl who showed us his newly opened store Shoppen in the Norrebro district of Copenhagen.
What followed next was a complete eye-opener for us because in this cosy, basement shop you could try buy some of the coolest spirits known to man and the best part was, you could buy all of it per centilitre, from a classic whisky to a funky rum to a weird mezcal. We left Carl's shop loaded with bags of bottles in all sizes and shapes. On the way back home, we kept talking about how cool that experience was and how no one does that over here.
But unlike most holiday romances this one stuck. We had seen the light and a decision was made. We would open a shop where you could have the same fantastic experience as we had in our hometown Ghent.
So... here we are!
