McGillin's Olde Ale House opened in 1860, making it Philadelphia's oldest continuously operating tavern. Celebrated our 150th anniversary in 2010.
Opened 1860 by Ma & Pa McGillin. Their daughter, Mercedes, sold it to Brothers Henry Spaniak & Joe Shepaniak in 1958. Henry's daughter, Mary Ellen, currently owns the bar with her husband, Chris Mullins and their son, Christopher Mullins, Jr.
Open daily 11 am to 2 am. We serve lunch, dinner, late night and weekend brunch (11 am - 3pm). Walk-ins welcome. We do not take reservations. We're 1st come/1st served and seat everyone as quickly as possible. Good for groups.
For a quieter visit, try lunch or mid-afternoon early in the week. We tend to get louder (& younger) as the night gets later.
