Originally dubbed the Golden Sun saloon – purchased in 1905 by president Teddy Roosevelt – the iconic property re-opened in Downtown LA as the Golden Gopher in 2004 by Cedd Moses’ acclaimed 213 Hospitality, the first hospitality developer to stake a claim in the neighborhood’s historically significant buildings by reinventing them into cultural destinations. Golden Gopher remains a community attraction and everyday watering hole for DTLA residents and visitors alike. Open nightly 365 days a year, Golden Gopher features original exposed brick, custom-designed glass chandeliers, 16 craft beers on tap, and old-school video game tables.
