A NEIGHBORHOOD PUB
ON THE SLOPES OF MOUNT TABOR
We are located on the slopes of Mount Tabor, the only volcano within the limits of a major city in the entire country. The term caldera refers to the crater formed by a violent, volcanic eruption. This wonderful building was built in 1910 by pharmacist Thomas Graham, whose picture can be seen hanging to the right of the bar. The four grand columns out front were taken from a building constructed for the Lewis & Clark Exposition of 1905. The original ‘Prescriptions, Drugs & Sundries' lettering behind the columns was unexpectedly uncovered during our restoration of the front porch. Mr. Graham ran this space for many years as one of the first drugstores on the East side of town. It was a sleepy stop near the old street car line, when the area was still predominantly apple orchard farmland.
