Glaswegians are spoilt for choice when it comes to great places to eat & Alston has raised the bar even further by serving the best steak the city has to offer. Our Tweed Valley beef comes from accredited farms each renowned for producing quality beef, full of flavour & tenderness. The beef for Alston is selected from the top 1% of the Scottish suckler herd and our butcher achieves this because their criteria is so refined. Alston uses “clean beef†which means steers or heifers that have not yet calved. They must come from sustainable small batch farms that grass feed their animals and are audited by Quality Meat Scotland. None of our beef comes from a dairy herd, which are not bred for their eating quality yet can still be labelled as UK Prime beef, so our customers can enjoy the top 1 percentile of Scotch beef. Alston Bar & Beef, named after the long forgotten main street of Grahamston Village, is located underneath the Gordon Street entrance to Glasgow Central Station. Enter through the discreet door & follow the stairs down to Alston's underground arches to a bar with over 120 gins, each uniquely garnished & served to perfection.
