Mass. Avenue Pub was originally opened as the 745 Bar and Grill in December of 2001. We quickly filled the need on the East end of Mass. Ave. as the neighborhood pub for Chatham Arch, Cottage Home, Woodruff Place residents and our beloved Fire Department. At that time, the 745, as it was nicknamed, was one of only a handful of restaurants on the avenue: my how we’ve seen things change!
The development of the avenue has been exciting to be a part of but doesn’t come without sacrafice. In January of 2005 the construction of a surrounding building compromised the foundation of our pub and our entire‚ kitchen collapsed into the excavation. All of us were okay but very shaken by the incident. Our motto? You can’t keep a good pub down so in February‚ of 2007 following reconstruction we reopened as the Mass. Avenue Pub. We are known for great pub food, an eclectic beer selection, daily drink and food specials served up by the friendliest staff around.
Bustling Mass. Ave. is now home to a great variety of restaurants, bars, theatres, shops and more! We’re‚ proud‚ to be a part of the avenues’ recent history and look forward to continued success at Mass. Avenue Pub.
